iSamples Webinars held for the Fall of 2016 will focus on the efforts of the four iSamples working groups. The working groups aim to identify, develop, and build consensus around best practices and standards for sample registration, identification, citation, and metadata. The webinars will take place every other Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 pm Eastern Time beginning on October 19th. iSamples Working Group 1: Identifiers & Metadata

The mission of the iSamples Identifiers & Metadata Working group is to assess leading practices for relevant, commonly used, and/or emergent metadata and identifier guidelines for physical samples within Earth science communities, for interoperability that will result in improved discovery, access, and understanding. This webinar will discuss ongoing and planned efforts within the working group and will invite audience feedback.
