The TAC Use Case Working Group will hold a breakout session at the AHM (1:30 pm on Wed, July 6).
Present the status of the Use Case Working Group work to date, and solicit input on next steps and priority directions; and
Discuss whether and how use case efforts underway in other components of EC could/should be streamlined, aligned in methodology, and/or if the outputs should be aggregated into a central location for discovery. We will pay special attention to the question of alignment of “science” and “technical” use case efforts in EC.
Ways to Participate
- First, if you are involved in use case work in a funded project, or perceive use cases as valuable to the future development of EarthCube, please attend the breakout and contribute.
- Second, in advance of the AHM we are developing a high-level inventory of the use case efforts in EarthCube. If your group is documenting use cases, please send pointers/links to the Use Cases Working Group pointers or links to your use cases with a one sentence description of objectives/context, and any specific format/template you may have defined for them. We are defining use cases broadly (user requirements, user scenarios, etc.) but are looking for specifically documented use cases (e.g., not expressions of user needs embedded in overall proposals or high level project justifications).
Use cases will be inventories to assess the scope and variety of use case efforts in EarthCube. The goal is to have as complete a listing as possible; therefore, we’d appreciate hearing back from you about your use cases with a pointer and a brief description of purpose.
Please send your use case pointers by June 26 so we can collate the information in advance of All Hands.
